Frequently asked questions
Do I need my original key to have one cut?
It helps, but not always — a locksmith can also cut an accurate key from the vehicle's key code when no original is available.
Does a cut key need programming too?
If it has a transponder chip, yes — cutting shapes the blade to the lock, but a chip key must also be programmed to start the engine.
